Letter from a patient after the first appointment with Dr Leu

Dear Ms Dettmann,

There are some things that I can't keep private:
I still can't believe that a few weeks ago, I hit the road to Hamburg to consult a dentist. This consultation, the human warmth that came from Dr Leu and the naturalness with which he cared for my HUGE problem, all that has given me back a tiny little piece of self-esteem. With this letter, I would like to thank him most sincerely for that. I can't wait to have it all done and I have already made a lot of plans for the time afterwards.

Best regards,
B. M.

Healthy teeth and a radiant smile - is that your greatest wish?

But does your extreme fear of the dental treatment prevent your wish from being fulfilled?

Like you, at least 3,5 million people in the UK alone suffer from dental treatment phobia.

The GentleDentalOffice® helps these patients with a newly developed 3TT-OLA-ITN® treatment method. Teeth are completely restored in only three appointments and under full anaesthesia, and patients lose their panic fear of the dentist.
The team of the GentleDentalOffice® is made up of dentists, anaesthesiologists and employees on the telephone who have learned special abilities and skills in dealing with dental treatment phobia patients. The dentists approach their patients' fears with understanding and sensitivity.

Thousands of satisfied, happy patients from throughout Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain and Great Britain bear witness to the success of this treatment, encouraging others who have not yet taken this step.

Every month, you can read a new Patient Report of the Month on this page.

Each patient has his or her own story - sympathise with them and be encouraged to take the step yourself!

"The dentist always meant for me: pain before, pain during and pain after the treatment."

The image of the dentist actually remained constant for me - a rather negative one.

With this attitude I read the AZ article in early 2003 about Dr. Leu and his phobia patients, as well as his treatment methods. I immediately contacted Dr. Leu by internet, e-mail and finally telephone, but fortunately I had to have a cataract operated on - again, I had a reason to indefinitely postpone the visit to the dentist.

With the coaxing of my second wife, I then visited Dr. Leu for a first conversation, as it is described in the AZ article. I had expected a kind of reproach, an appeal to my reason (which of course had always spoken to me in the background, calling my attention to the necessity of going to the dentist), but nothing of the sort happened. The situation was analysed in an impressively calm manner, relaxed and businesslike, and a solution was discussed.

I spent the very last days before the operation under general anaesthetic in a state of nerves. The closer this appointment approached, the less appetite I had during the days and the less sleep during the nights; at the same time, my level of irritability rose (or sank, depending on how one looks at it) dramatically. On the day of my treatment I came to you really at my wits' end, in every sense of the word. A friendly good morning from you, from the anaesthesiologist, then into the dreaded dentist's chair for me.

Usually at this point, at least in the past, the dentist's assistant would spread out the instruments of torture, tongs and such like, before my eyes on a little tray. I would feel like in the Middle Ages, when the delinquents were first presented with the instruments of torture before they were applied. Here with you? Nothing of the kind. A quick injection, then a long and (as I unexpectedly had to admit to myself) comfortable, restful sleep.

When I awakened, everything was over. The fear of the next days also proved completely unfounded, somewhat incomprehensible for me considering the number of pulled teeth, but I am grateful for it.

And I say this from the bottom of my heart: I regret not having found out sooner about Dr. Leu and the THREE APPOINTMENT THERAPY.

Thank you very much.

Yours sincerely,

Peter E. T.
